Reflection #2: Uncertainty

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Uncertainty can elicit strong emotions and cloud our thinking just when clear-headedness is needed the most. It can make us miserable, overshadowing the parts of the job that we love. Self-reflection can bring clarity in solving problems with uncertain outcomes.[/vc_column_text][prkwp_spacer][bquote author=”Susan Green, Vermont” prk_in=”“There’s a lot of letting go. The other thing is willing willingness to delegate and willingness to say you can take this. You know when I ran the playgroup I was so afraid to hire someone else to run it. They’re going to ruin it. I was convinced. It’s not going to be good. It took a lot to say: I’m going to give it up because I did it for two years. But I had to! It was killing me. Mm hmm. So a lot of letting go is my advice and a letting go — delegating, trusting. And not being a perfectionist. I have a friend who has literally suffered. She ran a small library and she had a nervous breakdown, basically. She was a perfectionist.“”][prkwp_spacer][prkwp_spacer][vc_column_text]This self-reflective exercise walks you through what to consider when reacting to uncertainty. In the second part, we will explore how to turn with kindness and acceptance towards yourself as you consider possible outcomes and solutions, developing the mindset that is ready to problem solve from a place of lower stress and a clearer head. In the third, we’ll extend our examination by looking at how uncertainty might create an unproductive drive to control outcomes. And finally, we’ll leave you with examples from the field.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text][ipt_fsqm_form id=”65″][/vc_column_text][prkwp_spacer][vc_column_text]Tried this self-reflection tool?
